Padilla Bay Foundation ("the Foundation," "we," "us," or "our") is a nonprofit organization based in the State of Washington. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect information when you visit our website at padillabayfdn.org (the "Site") or otherwise interact with us, such as by donating, volunteering, subscribing to our newsletter, or contacting us.

Donations: name, billing address, email, phone number, and payment information (processed by our third-party payment processor — see Section 4), donation amount and history, employer matching-gift information
Volunteer interest forms: name, contact information, availability, areas of interest, skills or experience relevant to volunteering
Event registration: name, contact information, ticket or registration selections, dietary or accessibility needs, payment information (if applicable), emergency contact information (if applicable)
Contact forms: name, email address, and the content of your message or inquiry
Newsletter/mailing list signup: name and email address

b. Information Collected Automatically

When you visit the Site, we (or our service providers) may automatically collect:

IP address, browser type, device type, operating system
Pages visited, time spent on pages, referring/exit pages

We do not sell your personal information.

We do not share your information with third parties for their own independent marketing purposes without your consent.

4. Payment Processing

Donations and event registrations made through the Site are processed through Wix, our website, payment processing, and event management platform. We do not store full credit card or bank account numbers on our own servers. Please review Wix's Privacy Policy for details on how they handle your payment and registration information.

5. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies, including Google Analytics, to understand how visitors use the Site and to improve your experience. Google Analytics collects information such as pages visited, time on page, and general location/device information. You can also control cookies generally through your browser settings; disabling cookies may limit some Site functionality.

We do not currently respond to "Do Not Track" browser signals.

6. Children's Privacy

Minors may use the Site, including to register for events or express interest in volunteering with a parent or guardian's involvement. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without verifiable parental consent, consistent with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). If a minor under 13 registers for an event or program, we ask that a parent or guardian complete the submission or provide consent.

If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information without appropriate consent, please contact us so we can review and delete it as appropriate.

7. Data Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Data Retention

We retain personal information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this policy, including to meet legal, accounting, or reporting requirements (for example, donation records retained per IRS recordkeeping requirements).

9. Your Choices and Rights

Email communications: You may unsubscribe from our email communications at any time using the "unsubscribe" link in any email or by contacting us directly.
Access/correction/deletion: You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information by contacting us at [contact email]. We will respond consistent with applicable law.
Out-of-state and international donors: Because we may receive donations and communications from supporters outside Washington State, residents of states with comprehensive privacy laws (such as California) may have additional rights, such as the right to know, delete, or correct personal information. Similarly, donors located in the European Union, United Kingdom, or other jurisdictions with data protection laws (such as the GDPR) may have rights regarding access, correction, deletion, or restriction of processing of their personal data. Note: We do not collect health information through the Site, other than any dietary or accessibility needs voluntarily shared during event registration, which we use solely to accommodate your attendance.
